We are a Guildford-based internet seller of motorcycle clothing with a shop attached to our warehouse.
We started producing videos in Lockdown, but from the outset our priority was to try to educate people about bike gear and how it works. We also wanted to make our reviews as honest as possible, highlighting the flaws in a product as well as its strengths.
Our physical shop is small, yet the amount of merchandise we have over the three floors of our warehouse technically makes this the best stocked shop in the UK. But it is a different kind of shop. Less than 10% of our range is on display, and there are no prices on anything. Sometimes you have to wait in our Waiting Room until there is somebody free to look after you. Frankly, it’s not the kind of shop you visit merely to browse. Our aim is to help you find the best gear for your kind of riding. And we won’t let you take something if it doesn’t fit. If that’s the kind of service you want, come and see us.

Top 10 summer motorcycle pants 2024
Recently, we did a review of what we considered to be 10 of the best summer, motorcycle jackets. Our definition of a summer riding jacket being anything without a waterproof membrane. This being a necessity, obviously, to prevent overheating in warmer climes, or when you're working hard off road.
And so we thought it appropriate to follow up that review with one about riding trousers that are similarly suited to hot-weather riding.
Motorcycle trousers without a membrane are so much easier and more comfortable to wear than waterproof trousers. There is, of course, one problem with this form of attire on the bike. Basically, if it rains you are going to get wet.

Fuel Astrail motorcycle jacket review 2024
Просмотров 3,9 тыс.21 час назад
The Fuel Astrail motorcycle jacket is part of the company's so-called 'Expedition' collection. The Astrail jacket offers the versatility of a highly breathable outer jacket that can be married with both waterproof and thermal linings for inclement weather. The body of the jacket is made from a Nylon Ripstop fabric with leather patches on the elbows and shoulders for added protection. D3O armour...
Top 10 summer motorcycle jackets 2024

In this review we are going to be looking at ten of our favourite summer jackets. We don't do every brand out there, obviously, but we do tend to be quite picky, so I think you can be reasonably confident that we're going to be talking about some of the better, summer jackets on the market. But I suppose the first question has to be: 'what is a summer jacket'? And for us the answer is any jacke...

It's that time of year. Summer is technically here; although it still doesn't feel as though the new season is yet in full swing. But the temperatures are moving up. Occasionally, one might even suggest it's hot. Now that it's a bit warmer, more of us are venturing off road again. And lots of people seem to be setting off on adventures to foreign lands. And so a case can be made for putting you...
Segura Prisca ladies dungaree review
Просмотров 1 тыс.21 день назад
The Prisca ladies dungarees were presented to us by the Segura importer towards the back end of 2023. Other retailers had turned their noses up at them, but we quite liked them, so decided to range them. We didn't do this merely to be different. We have taken them on because, for some lady riders, we think they are going to be perfect. The starting point, of course, is a pair of dungarees that ...
Top 10 short motorcycle boots 2024
Просмотров 38 тыс.Месяц назад
There can be no doubt that motorcyclists are turning their backs on full-height touring and commuting, motorcycle boots in favour of shorter, easier-to-wear, ankle boots. And it's not difficult to understand why. Now back in the old days, motorcycle boots were all tall. Whatever kind of bike you rode, whatever kind of riding you did, you bought a pair of calf-length boots. But that was when we ...
What is Shoei PFS (Personal Fitting System) and how does it work?
Просмотров 3,9 тыс.2 месяца назад
Shoei P.F.S. which stands for Shoei Personal Fitting System is a computer-based model that, for the first time ever, allows a totally bespoke fit to be achieved, albeit only on a Shoei motorcycle helmet, of course. Belstaff Brooklands jacket review
Просмотров 3,1 тыс.2 месяца назад
Long acknowledged as the coolest, and easiest to wear, jacket in the company's motorcycle collection, we had somewhat fallen out of love with the Belstaff Brooklands as a biking jacket, because it was simply too short at the back. Cut more for the street than the bike, when leant forward over the bars it nearly always left the back exposed above the jean line. Not great in the rain, but of even...
Belstaff Trialmaster jacket review
Просмотров 3,2 тыс.2 месяца назад
The Belstaff Trialmaster is about as iconic as a motorcycle jacket gets. It's been around in various forms since just after the war. The version that has just been replaced was a heck of a jacket, but for some it was simply too much of a jacket. With it's 10 ounce wax cotton chassis it was a heavy jacket. Yes, it was robust; it was more than up to a winter commute, but it was not nice to walk a...
Belstaff Poplar chino review
Просмотров 3,6 тыс.2 месяца назад
The Belstaff Poplar is a style, or more particularly a fit, of trouser that has been in the Belstaff range for a few years now. But until this new, chino-version was introduced in 2024, the Poplar had always been a denim pant. The Poplar fit has always been, and still is, straight leg. More 501 than 511. The new chino is made from a stretch Cordura mixed with a polyamide for added strength. The...
Rukka Kemi jacket review
Просмотров 6 тыс.3 месяца назад
The Rukka Kemi has a lot in common with a number of Rukka jackets. It is equipped with a three-layer, laminated, waterproof membrane. It comes with vents on the chest, at the shoulders, in the arms, up the flanks, and in the back. You get volume adjusters on the biceps, lots of pockets, Neoprene in the collar, Velcro straps at the sleeve ends, and so on. The Cordura outer chassis is re-inforced...
Belstaff Crosby jacket review
Просмотров 3,5 тыс.3 месяца назад
The Crosby jacket has been in the Belstaff motorcycle range for quite a while, although it was not around in the olden days before the brand was sold off to the Italian, Melanotti family; whereas styles like the Trialmaster and Brooklands were. But that does not alter the fact that the Crosby has probably always been the most wearable and practical jacket in the company's waxed cotton collectio...
Belstaff Temple wax cotton jacket review
Просмотров 3 тыс.3 месяца назад
As a design, the Belstaff Temple jacket has been in the Belstaff collection for a few years. In truth, we were not, and still are not, great fans. People bought it because it was a Belstaff, and because it looks great, but even though it was A-rated we always felt it was a bit lacking in substance. Around town, not a problem perhaps, but we would not have wanted to have a spill on the open road...
Bering Antartica GTX jacket review
Просмотров 3 тыс.3 месяца назад
The Bering Antartica jacket is styled very much in the adventure aesthetic. The jacket sits a bit longer. You get large, lower, flap pockets, a ticket pocket on the front of the jacket, and another one on the sleeve. There's a large map pocket on the back. There's a strap to cinch the waist in; a strap that can also be adjusted higher or lower. You get nicely positioned vents at the side of the...
Bering Zephyr jacket review
Просмотров 2,9 тыс.3 месяца назад
The Bering Zephyr is undeniably fashioned in the mould of an adventure jacket. It comes equipped with a laminated membrane. Here at Motolegends, that's not necessarily our definition of an adventure jacket, but it certainly is Klim's, so who are we to argue? The membrane in the Zephyr is two-layer, and is Bering's own. Now, by and large, we are not fans of inexpensive, laminated garments. They ...

Rukka jackets - the definitive guide to Rukka Gore-Tex motorcycle suits
I got my 2019 latitude jacket and pants and love it
The jacket is OK, but the cuffs leak. The zipper isn't waterproof and the ventilation is bad. For a jacket at this price point with laminated goretex it's incredible that they missed that. The storm collar is just annoying when it's flapping about with its symbolic magnet. I just bought the Rukka Shield-r and Rapto-r pants, and my god what a difference. The Rukka is well ventilated in the summer heat, very warm with the down set, and feels safe. Costs a pretty penny, but it alone has increased my level of enjoyment on the bike by a lot. A comfortable rider is a safe(r) rider and so forth.
Was the other version level two armour?????
Bloody pants speak English man
You mean trousers. It’s quite simple, you’re British, running a British clothes shop. We call trousers trousers and pants pants regardless of Americans calling trousers pants. We wear pants under our trousers.
Oh relax. It’s worldwide market. Don’t get your panties in a knot. 😉
Superman wears his pants on the outside! 😉
@@robinfoster847 😄 Indeed - but the host (prat in the cap) is rather more Clark Kent than Superman - and that's being generous...
@@maxgusatz5644 Easy does it, the guy's doing a good job - you don't have to watch him, it's not compulsory...
@@robinfoster847 😂👍
I have upgraded from Neotec 1 to 3. N3 is much much more quiet than N1. Unfortunately that is the only positive aspect I found. The redesigned front chin vent on N3 is much worse than the one on N1 and blows almost no air inside the helmet. The first locked position of visor on N3 is much higher than on N1. So in attempt to compensate for ineffective front chin vent when you open the visor you get too much air. N1 was far superior with that respect. So although N3 is very quiet in comparison to N1 , I am not really satisfied with N3 ….
I have Klim Switchback. Hot in Arizona weather. Marrakesh pants flow more air.
My Klim Marrakesh easily go over my Daytona Road Star GTX boots, but no way will they go over my Alpinestars SMX 6 V2 GTX boots.
After reading a lot of the comments and not seeing this asked, I'll ask: Is this video (or your channel in general) sponsored by Rokker? If so please be honest about it so that we can make a more informed choice. Thanks for the great videos!
I came off my GS wearing a Nivala suit. A 70kmph low side. Simply ran out of talent. After I came to a halt. I simply lifted the bike up and continued on my way. Yes the pants were now with a gaping hole in them but the armour took the energy out of the crash. Great suit, comfortable, warm in the winter, fully waterproof but too hot in temperatures over 20 degrees. The armour size in the pants in the knees is a little too bit.
Awesome video! Very comprehensive and well presented. I have a pair of Klim Switchback pants and I always wear them. I do take waterproofs just in case. They are comfortable and look smart. I have had them for three years. BTW this video did not come up on my subscription page but on my home page. I am a subscriber . Maybe a RUclips thing? Best!
I tell you. A pair of Rokker Legend jeans ( love the super quality BTW) I got from you guys are Hot as Hell in the summer here in the states. It is about 80-90F and I'm a sweaty mess after a ride. I gotta find something else.
Drat. I was about to order a pair but living in California my rides start out in the morning at 55f/13c and can go to 95f/35c (occasionally 105f/40c) on a summer day. Got any advice or thoughts? I’d love a trouser with a AA+ rating that can be fitted with L2 armor that is comfortable to 90f.
Any thoughts about the John Doe single layer jeans. Nice material, triple A rating, loads of different smart fits and good pricing compared to the top of notch Roker.
Jeans are not always acceptable when you get to work so trousers that look smart casual are great for the office
The problem with that helmet is that I can't hear my engine as much as I'd like.
Kevlar y-fronts come to mind!
“Pants”,, Is this for the American market? I clicked thinking you actually had a range of skivvies!
Clearly you think you are in some way upholding the English language, but language is fluid. We talk about jogging pants, cargo pants and skiiing pants, whilst equestrians talk about riding pants, so what’s the big deal with motorcycle pants? Carry on like this, and people will take you for a retired public school teacher. There are no absolute rights or wrongs here; there are just views. You need to relax, and find something more worthy of your attention, because frankly pants vs trousers is a pretty tired debate, and one that, as time goes by, you are destined to lose! Skivvies, by the way, is an American term, so you need, at least, to be consistent! CP
@@Motolegends oh, I know what skivvies are, that was my point but it clearly bypassed your humour cell. You seem overly defensive about your use of “pants”, and it seems to have touched a nerve for some reason. I suggest you read my comment again and keep it in perspective. I’m a customer of Motolegends and my wife and I spend a lot in your store. Now, that doesn’t give me any special privileges of course, but I wasn’t abusive or derogatory, so maybe it’s you that needs to relax and wind it in a bit. Anyway, what’s wrong with being a retired public school teacher?
Wow. I don't like trousers being called pants, but Moto Legends, you need to chill. Chap in a cap with tweedy waistcoat and using the term "chap" is playing on Englishness, so be consistent. Btw no British equestrian would say riding pants. Jodhpurs (I believe to be a Hindi word) or more old school, breeches (also used in US britches) is what equestrians call riding trousers. Language evolves but the usual British English word is trousers and "pants" jarred with me, but nowhere near as much as the humourless and defensive response did.
You were doing well calling trousers trousers until you got to the Marakesh 😞
Get over yourself.
Thinking to start riding soon, after I pass my Safety course and buy a motercycle of course. I want to be the safe I can so longs boots is something that I should go for correct?
Can we use it for extreme winters
Klim is pronounced climb (note the dash above the i).
Schuberth C5 vs Shoei?
I wonder if the Defiant X is smaller or bigger than the Rapide
I think your first choice for around the world trip would be the Klim Marrakesh, right?😉
If Japanese & Germans make their helmets the same way they make their motorcycles then I'd go with the Shoei.
I went from Canada to Motolegends to get fitted with a helmet because i could not find anything in Canada or a store that cared about providing fitting or good service. Having seen their videos and commitment to fitting a helmet to a rider i flew to England to go to their shop. I was not disappointed Chris immediately had one of the staff use the PFS on me and spend a half hour fitting me. The helmet is great and very comfortable. I will always go back to see them when i need a helmet. Oh and by the way it was $500 cdn cheaper than buying the same helmet in Canada. I am a big supporter of Motolegends and their great service
I think the little see through pocket on the sleeve is meant for an ID or ICE card…Touratech and Klim both have these
As a fan of Moto legends I have to say..Sorry but why even bother stocking this brand or this item if this is the review you give it???
Because not everybody can afford a Rukka, a Held or even a Halvarssons. For some people this will be the perfect suit. We just want customers to know a product’s strengths and weaknesses. CP
I freaking love this review. Fully laying out both the pros and the cons, and not making excuses for the cons either.
I’m a big fan of Fuels Bunker jacket, very good values for money
Brilliant explanation.Thank you
That Rokker shirt interesting design. I need to source a rack/holder for my bike so I can carry an axe. But I suppose I’d not be able to ride through London, right?
“Summer” at the Arctic Circle or the Tropic of Cancer?
Klim Marrakesh is good for maybe 70-85degF. It does not flow as much air as needed in the hot SW USA. I bought it last year after your reviews. Then I decided on trying the Klim Induction jacket and pants as well. Much better about 80degF. In fact, I just returned today from 1800 miles trip from central Arizona up to SW Wyoming and back wearing the Induction gear. This morning at 9,000ft elevation campsite it was 58degF when I started. Had T-shirt, Klim Zephyr, Klim Induction and Scott’s rain jacket over it. As I dropped in elevation it started warming. By the time I arrived home it was 98degF and I was down to the T-Shirt and Induction jacket and it was tolerable.
Fantastic video, thanks for sharing!
I’ve done a 1000km in a full GoreTex jacket under 34 degrees. As long as you’re riding it’s feasible. On my way back I had torrential rain and heavy winds, reason why I decides to wear this jacket instead of my simple Mesh. Good decision!
Still no Knox… still no agreement.
I was really hoping he’d talk about Knox too as he does such a nice job detailing riding gear.
Half of these jackets, are not suitable for hot summer days. Nice jackets yes, but impractical for hot rides...
Common sense is not an absolute given today but top quality, Knowledgeable, expert advice from someone who is passionate about their subject is without doubt pure gold. I hope to see you very soon. Thank you.
Do you gents across the pond never wear the Klim Induction Pro? The sizing is huge but then thats room for layering.
He's the best motorbike dealer and supervisor
£569 for the Rokker Black jacket….erm, no thanks.
I'd like to match Brema with Brema AA pants
Gossamer????? Are you saying it’s rubber Johnny thin? 😂😂😂
Hi,why not include prices as at time of making the video?
Driving traffic to their website….
This video is waaayyy too short, mate
Sarcasm?
Could I book an appointment / time slot?
We don’t take appointments. Just turn up any time. We’re open 10am to 5.30 pm Monday to Friday.
Came for jacket reviews and learned about science of sweating😅
Nice selection of jackets . . . for men. C'mon, Chris, how about a mention of women's jackets? Several of those styles you displayed have women's counterparts. You don't even have to do a separate video.
Yes, good point. I will do so in the future. I suppose I wrote the script believing that women would not be watching a video about men’s jackets. I will do better. CP.
@@Motolegends My husband (also a rider) and I watch all your very entertaining videos. We've learned so much from them! I can now tutor riding friends on the nuances of armor, merino wool, single-layer jeans, laminated vs. drop-liner jackets, the differences among summer, summer-waterproof, and winter gloves, etc. I watch the men's new-item apparel videos on your youtube channel, then I go looking on your website for a women's analog. It's always a treat when Sara does a women's video. She's already sold me two jackets and several other items all the way across the Atlantic. Sometimes I have to wear men's items, either for sizing--my big feet only fit in the Daytona MStar, not the LadyStar--or for features--Klim Badlands Aero Pro gloves don't come in women's sizes. I can see that you folks are truly committed to bringing in quality women's gear. I just like to needle you a little. Keep up the wonderful videos--we'll be watching and buying!
I just bought a riding shirt… two days ago, just missed me. Still love my Berring Norris! Highly recommend
